What's this?
I think it was JD that suggested we should have something to hand out at meetings to welcome people and to collect feedback. Everybody: please help flesh-out this draft.
Announcement (2006.08.07)
Thanks to suggestions from GG, JD, SZ, and R? at the study group meeting, I have a candidate sor such a handout: Please get and review the page from http://www.kernel-panic.org/kp_fq1_20060807.pdf/file_view
Handout should
- show general KPLUG info: Logo, website, meetings. Please insert ideas here.
- letterhead-like Banner would be nice
- www.kernel-panic.org
- contact: president@.. (?)
- have some warm fuzzy welcome message. Ideas on wording?
Welcome message candidates
2a. Welcome to this meeting of KPLUG (Kernel-Panic Linux User Group), the oldest and largest Linux uset group in the San Diego area. You are probably already aware of our event schedule:
- General Meeting: 7-9pm, Second Thursday
- Main Installfest: 10am-3pm, Saturday following second Thursday
- Study Group: 6:30-9pm, First Thursday
- Auxiliary ("Bookstore") Installfest: 10am-3pm, First Saturday
Please visit www.kernel-panic.org/meetings to confirm dates, and for location details, directions and maps
- Note: the meetings page needs work! Perhaps we should leave it at visit our website until that gets fixed/resolved.
- Need a QA volunteer to review and critique the Homepage, Meetings, Events, Calendar part of our website, and perhaps also our overall announcement practice and mechanisms.
- ask for comments, suggestions, requests, and questions.
- should we have specific form sections for comments, etc
- or a general invitation, and a big blank space (my vote [jgs]?)
- ..
