"Tech Fest":http://www.kernel-panic.org/index.pl/tech_fest Meetings

I'd like feedback on idea of doing a Python introduction at a TechFest. This would be an all day class for complete beginners. Don't post your comments here but email me at chris@pythonsoft.com. See my post to kplug-steer to reply there also.

I believe people will respond to TechFests that center on major development tools and platforms. For example, discussions of gcc, gdb, expect, and so on.

In this spirit, I could volunteer (much easier if Josh would co-volunteer) to do a TechFest of the yaab lpsg project, which (to remind all) concerned using various GUI tools to interface with a postgresql back end. Cool stuff, and we made some good progress. The reason I would want Josh available is that he's worlds ahead of me on administering postgres (and probably lots more, but that's another story).

Down the road I might volunteer to do a TechFest (TF) on Source Control Management (SCM) using subversion (remembering the general meeting presentation I did on CVS) ... but subversion is in release 0.16.xx, so that's premature.

  LTSP and Mosix? 23Jan03 --
This may be better in an InstallFest arena where there is more room and tools for doing an "LTSP and Mosix installation":http://ltsp.sourceforge.net/aboutus.php demo... but this is something I'd really like to see. There was a Mosix demo a few months ago...
