According to the manual, standby mode is "less than 60 W." It goes into
a Power Save mode after a period of inactivity that draws "less than 8
W." This period is adjustable from 1 min to 2 hr, with the default
setting being 1 min. I left it there since even when stone cold it goes
to ready in about 15 sec.

It's a whole lot quieter than the HP Officejet 5610 that it replaced.
The specs say 26 dB standby and 50 dB printing. The only standby noise
is a small cooling fan, which is inaudible in my office over the noise
of the various computers running.
