Hi KPLUGers :)

1) Who's in charge of this mail list & group?

2) Starting June 2008 I've been putting together this global Free SW HW
Culture GNU(Linux) group, BerkeleyTIP, & GlobalTIP, which meets via VOIP
globally. :) It's purpose is educational, productive & social. TIP =
Talks, Installfest & Project/Programming Party. I do all this in my
small "spare/free" time as a contribution to the communit(ies). {Thanks
for all the SW! :) }

I invite you all to join with the California & global community &
attend online. Join #berkeleytip on irc.freenode.net, & we'll help you
get on VOIP. We also encourage all local groups to hold a simultaneous
local meeting, & join together with us all online.

3) One main purpose of BTIPGlobal is to provide a community for college
students to learn about these topics, because they are at a point where
they could become contributors to these efforts. This year, one task
I'm focusing on is reaching out to the University of California student
communities. Since KPLUG is near UC San Diego (am I correct?)

I see from your mailing list that you are a very active & capabale
community. :) I wanted to let you all know about BTIPGlobal, & this
effort, & hope that you all can join with us all to help reach out to
UCSD students. One possible way is to help get flyers put up on the
UCSD campus, & invite students there to a simultaneous KPLUG/BTIPGlobal
meeting.

(There are meeting flyers at the bottom of our home page, which are in
open doc format, & you can use directly, or customize.
http://sites.google.com/site/berkeleytip/ )

Anyone there interested in joining in the meeting, & maybe also helping
reach out to the UCSD students?

4) May I send to this mailing list the monthly BTIPGlobal announcement?
This month's announcement is included right below.

Best Wishes, John Re
