...and then DVD. And then USB stick. And then SmartMedia.

Really, you need to buy ever new gadget that comes along and duplicate
your data to every possible format.   Not only will this help you avoid
any future "OMG I can't get at that data" you'll also help fund the
industry, and encourage venders to keep providing new shiny gadgets that
are utterly incompatible with the old not-so-shiny gadgets.
