The Opteron is only worth the cost if you need multiple cpu's.
The FX series is for high performance graphics or gaming, for those that
don't care about paying full price for the 20% increase.
The Socket 939 is the newest version, and should be supported the longest.
However, I believe the Socket 754 cpu is the best value, and will be for
some time.
