How is this done? I have always used Mozillamail or Kmail for my e-mail
needs, along with my ISP's SMTP server.

However, I recently stayed in a hotel with high-speed Internet service
(DSL). I couldn't send e-mail because my ISP doesn't allow relaying, and
the hotel connection apparently had no SMTP server of its own.

I realize that this is probably pretty basic, and apologize if it
belongs on the newbie list. I've just never had a reason to do it before.
