Postfix, virtual hosting and /etc/passwd

You have a couple of choices. Use one of several Mail Delivery Agents,
Cyrus is the one I use, that can use another authentication mechanism, not
related to /etc/passwd. Then choose either sasl or ldap as the
authentication mechanism. I've been using sasl, but would like eventually
to move everything to ldap.
