I realize that. But one would generate the web page by writing 
a script that queried the LDAP using a query like:

  "give me the filenames of all of the user's pictures" 

and then one would generate a page(s) of thumbnails that 
point at the pictures. 

One would use the LDAP as a directory which is its purpose,
right?
