There's also an issue with service configuration using xinetd. Neither
telnet or ftp into the box are enabled by default. You need to enable
both of these services and restart xinetd. OTOH, I agree with the
comment about ssh. I have three ports open on my RH7.1 server: 22
(ssh), 80/443 (http/https). All port traffic other than the http
protocols is tunneled over ssh.
