RH 6.2 vs. 7.1 for older/slower pentium?

My experience with low end HW (this is empirical, no benchmarks) is that
later distributions run as well or better with these caveats:

1. later ones tend to need more HD space for all their extra bells and
whistles

2. if you installed with a /boot partition (remember needing those? ;-)
that was tight, later kernels can be too big for them

Otherwise (unlike M$), later is generally better. This is Linux, my man ;-)
