Certainly both devices can be up at the same time.
I believe the problem exists with routing.
Though if you're dialing into a firewalled network, that's not a problem, as you prolly only want to have access to the firewalled machines, and that route is simple. But if you want to access the 'Net at the same time over 2 devices, which one gets the traffic ? (is this a load balancing issue ?)
