! Very subliminal debian support. ;-)

By the way I love Debian too---but it's not the distribution I use.
(Just ask Chad---he's been giving me grief about it the last couple of
months. :-))

! I use Slackware 4.0. The default mail client on Slackware is elm, pine etc., but
! not Mutt. So obviously, the authors didn't bother to upgrade other libraries,
! since these clients did not need them.

elm is a pain in the neck to install on Linux systems, it seems... I've
had to hack the Configure file a lot before it worked, so I'm glad I
got it to work in the end!

I've never tried installing pine. You can say it's for religious
reasons.

! I have been a long time Slackware user. If I have to ever switch distro (which
! don't see happening), it will be for SuSE. I heard debian is good, but for now
! I will stay with Slackware.

Though I've moved away from Slackware a long time ago (because in the
past it's stuck with libc5), I know someone who's said good things about
Slackware too: http://archives.m.org.nz/man-linux/msg00021.html

Just stick to the distribution you love, don't let others make you feel
bad about it. I'm practising my preachings right now. :-)
