Wrong phrasing. Say, instead, "Can we please mark politics with [POL]
in the subject line?".

And _then_ we can have the exciting discussion about [POL] versus [pol]
versus [Politics] versus whatever; and thus the meta-discussion might be
a fertile ground for splitting off into other topics.

Or just ignore those to drool a little to much while ranting on the topic.
