The Western Roman empire fell in 435 ad (or abouts). Thats not anywhere
near the Renaissance. The imperial period of Rome started around 25-35 bc,
so it lated almost 500 years. Not bad, but no record. The Eastern empire
lasted much longer, but retained very little of its roman roots.
