Read in context, the site says Herbert made the claim but it's
unsubstantiated.

May I say w/o it necessarily applying to Herbert, that pathological
liars rarely claim to have worked in 7 delis or to have achieved the
rank of regional night manager in the local Jack in the Box chain. It's
almost always CIA or Green Berets stuff. To the point that those claims
should trigger skepticism.

For myself, I have never worked for the CIA no can I recall ever recall
wearing a beret of any color. I did have a secret clearance in the Army,
but you'd be bored to tears if you knew why.
