Yeah, I've seen those.
It would be interesting to see a longer range study.
For instance, CA during the defense spending boom, FL during the NASA
days. The rust belt during the car building heydey.
My gut tells me we'd see the spending ebb and flow with changes in the
economy or we'd see it follow the population growth(or does population
growth follow government spending? heh).
I'm sure some economist somewhere must be studying it.
