Silly Things You Can Do With Python

by Neil Schneider last modified 2005-11-28 18:47

George Geller will speak about silly things you can do with Python.

The silly things include:

  • Process output from proprietary applications to produce customized reports.
  • Automate system admin tasks.
  • Use pygame and pgu to build a kitchen timer.
  • Use Tkinter to make a specialized drawing application.
  • Build a web application with zope, plone and zwiki.

George won't argue why Python is the best, or even a good choice for these tasks. No comparisons to, or discussions of, other programming languages will be allowed. (If you want to do that, schedule your own meeting. :-) These are all projects in which George has had some involvement.
